Dog Crates

A dog crate is apparently will be your first purchased item for your dog after the adoption. It is available in different sizes that can fit your dog.

Dog crates are used as some kind of a bedroom for you pet dog, it is your dog’s own personal place where he can relax. It is also used to keep your dog safe from any harm that could happen when you are not in control of him. Some dog trainers or owners who are very much attached to their pets also use a dog crate as a carrier when travelling on a long car ride or in a flight, but if they don’t like to travel with their pets, it the place for the dog to put them away from doing potty things around the house. Dog crates can also be used as a punishment place for your dogs but it is not advisable to use it that way, because dog crates as I’ve mentioned earlier should be a personal comfortable place for your dog where he can unwind.

Advantages

Dog crates will help you on training your dog indoor or out. It give your dog a cool place when travelling because it is largely open to have plenty of air movement inside, it can be easily covered also when the heat is irritating your dog. Dog crates also gives your dog enough space to move, play and see what happening around him, it will help your dogs to be aware of what’s on his surroundings and will avoid him from feeling isolated and caged. And lastly, it is easy to clean.

Disadvantages

When travelling on a flight some dog crates are not approved by the airlines especially the wire dog crates, so you have to invest another for the plastic crate. Making your dog see what’s happening around also has an advantage especially when you are in a place where everyone is having fun, the dog may feel separated and may lead him to whining, so put a chewy toy with him to keep him busy. A dog crate is indeed heavy so you have to be precise and sure on buying the right size for your pet.
